What we collect, and why
When you send us an enquiry
Our enquiry and quote forms ask for your email address, your vehicle registration, and whatever you tell us in the message box. Our jobs form also asks for your name and phone number.
We use this only to answer your enquiry. The lawful basis is legitimate interest — you have asked us a question and we are replying to it.
When you submit a form we also record the date and time, your IP address and your browser’s user-agent string. We keep these to detect and block automated spam, which is our legitimate interest in keeping the form usable.
When you book an MOT online
The online booking calendar on our MOT pages is provided by Autowork Online, a third party. When you use it, your booking details are handled by them under their own privacy policy, not this one. We receive the booking so we can carry out the work.
When you browse the site
If — and only if — you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics (via Google Tag Manager) and Microsoft Clarity to understand which pages people find useful. If you decline, neither is loaded and no analytics data is collected. See our Cookie Policy.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for marketing.
- Postmark (ActiveCampaign, LLC) delivers our enquiry notification emails.
- Autowork Online handles online MOT bookings.
- Google and Microsoft receive analytics data, but only with your consent.
- Our hosting provider stores the website and the enquiries submitted through it.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept for 24 months so we can look back at previous work on your vehicle, then deleted. Job applications are kept for 12 months unless you ask us to remove them sooner. Anti-spam records (IP address, timestamp) are kept for 90 days.
Where it is stored
Enquiries are stored on our web hosting, in a location that is not reachable from the public internet. They are not stored in any content management system and there is no login area on this website.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, or object to us using it. You can also ask for it in a portable format. To do any of these, email [email protected].
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Children
This website is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect information about them.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of the page.
